Danny Knight graduated from the Academy
of Professional Barber Stylists in 1982. I immediately apprenticed as
a cosmetologist under a wonderful veteran Mary Jane Zimmerman (who
currently owns Thomas Scott Salon and Spa Frederick) in order to
expand my understanding in cosmetology and develop my skills as a more
rounded hair professional. In 1984 I began working for Alberico Hair
Salon in Lake Forest Mall. I was promoted to Salon Manager. Together
in 1987 Alberico and I opened in Frederick MD. In 1990 with my wife
Pamela, we purchased the salon Soft Images of Frederick.

account of the Antietam Village fire, please visit
Our Story page.
We continue developing career paths for our employees through
education, and financial incentives. Specializing in hair replacement
technology solutions for more than 15 years now, Soft Images is also a
full service men and women’s hair replacement studio.
Education / Classes: Certified as a Framesi color technician for
nearly 25 years; Certified over 18 years in Roffler razor cutting
under the tutelage of "Pop" Roffler; Earlier on certified as a
Sebastian educator, and have attended numerous classes taught by
artists Trevor Sorbie, Toni and Guy, Vivienne Mackinder, John Sahag,
Paul Mitchell, Gerard Anunziato, Anthony Alteri and more. I am
certified by Great Lengths, a PhD from Eufora, Natural Solutions hair
replacement certification. Soft Images is actively a "Framesi
Moda-Capelli" Salon.
I have volunteered at Frederick County Career and Technology
Center, teaching a variety of techniques in cutting and coloring. Most
recently taught a vertical drop color class at the new Temple Paul
Mitchell partnership academy. I volunteer using my musical talents
playing drums and singing on a worship team at my church. I also have
coached youth football for the past 7 years as part of LUYAA (Linganore
Urbana Youth Athletic Association).
I have been a musician (as was my father and his brothers) my
entire life. I have an identical twin (David) and two younger brothers
(Dean & Curtis). David and Curtis have enjoyed wonderful success in
our salon as hairdressers. We perform, write, and record music. We
recorded our first LP in 1976. We recently released a CD
independently. I love singing and playing music. I love interacting
with live audiences. If you are interested in more about our music you
can visit us on the web:
http://www.theknightbrothers.com I enjoy photography both video
and still.
My personal objective is to grow as a professional hairdresser and
salon owner. I want to develop my skills as an educator, editorial
hair designer, and platform artist. I want to work with people and
companies who care about the health and well being of people as well
as the cosmetic impact of a person. I want to offer something unique
and cool and with a value. I am moving to the "next level" in my
career. |
